Excellent results by Cypriot players at EGC

Cypriot players have made some great games at the European Go Congress taking place in Prague. Amazingly, Theodoulos Papatheodoulou and Marios Koudounias have won 5 out of 5 games they played.

At the same time, Giannis Kassinopoulos and Dimitris Regginos have both won 3 out of 5 games. The latter has played against 3 dan players and is expected to make it to a 1 dan rating upon submission of the congress results.

Cyprus takes 23rd place in Iwamoto Tournament

Cyprus took 23rd place out of 27 countries in the Iwamoto Tournament 2005 which took place on KGS.

The tournament was a good experience, however characterised by many forfeits. We hope that next year a better turnout of players who sign up will take place.

Thanks to the Iwamoto Administration for organising this event quite smoothly.

49th European Go Congress

The European Go Congress is taking place in Prague this year.

The Cyprus Go Association will be represented by 4 of our members, namely Dimitris Regginos, Marios Koudounias, Theodoulos Papatheodoulou and Giannis Kasinopoulos. We wish all of them to have fun and do well in their games.
